START WITH WHO

YOU ARE

Name, job title, and department.
How long you’ve worked for the City.
How long you have been an EAA Member
One line about what your job is in plain language.

DESCRIBE WHAT YOU DO AND WHY IT MATTERS

What do you contribute to the City of Los Angeles?
What happens if your work isn’t done? Be specific.
Examples: "Hazardous waste won't be cleaned up," "critical systems will go unsupported," "planning efforts will grind to a halt."
Think in terms of public impact: safety, health, housing, traffic, environment, etc.

SHARE WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR LIFE

A layoff means real hardship — for you, your family, and your community.
You’re not a number on a spreadsheet. You’re a person who serves this city every day.

END WITH A STRONG ASK

Urge them to protect our jobs and reject these harmful cuts.
Remind them that this city can’t move forward by cutting the people who keep it moving & thriving.
