EAA was first to publicly oppose the Mayor’s proposed furloughs and we remain committed. We are the only union in Los Angeles that is entitled to 40 hours per week, every week, a right granted by our MOU, which we bargained for in good faith. Our language is clear: 40, not 39 hours.
Furthermore, City of Los Angeles vs. The Superior Court of Los Angeles County (2013) affirms EAA’s right to grieve and therefore arbitrate any MOU violation. #WeFightForYou
